Reactionary Islam

“Moderate Muslims” are not doing enough in the face of “extremists” and their “terrorist” activities.  This is a very common sentence that appears way more than it should and is necessary.

I have placed above words in quotations because they are widely used in the media without an absolute definition.  These words are used in different context depending on who is utilizing them in their piece to best fit their narrative.

Last 10 or so years of my life, Muslims and Islam have been on the defense at the mercy of the West and their media.  All blogospheres explode and twitter lights itself on fire every-time something happens and the perpetrator claims/or happens to be part of the Muslim community.  The fact of the matter is, Us, the so called “Moderate Muslims” should stay quite.  At least as quite as when New Orleans mothers day parade gets shot at or over a thousand people “accidentally” die in a crumbling factory building in Bangladesh.

We, the Muslims, don’t have to go out of our way to explain that Islam doesn’t permit killing of innocents.  We don’t have to defend ANYTHING. If someone is ignorant, which is not the case if you look at the media, it is their responsibility to learn and understand.  Spreading lies and disinformation is a job that the media is used for throughout recent history.

We DO NOT have to go out of our way to “feel” sorry for Boston.  We do not have to go out of our way to NOT “feel” sorry for Boston.  In fact, We don’t owe THEM anything.  Since they are perpetuating the US vs. THEM, WE DON’T OWE THEM ANYTHING!
